The Saskatchewan Literacy Network hosts and is involved in numerous events in communities around the province. Literacy events are a great way to get involved, recognize the work of literacy practitioners, raise awareness of literacy, and provide professional development opportunities.

The 2019 Saskatchewan Literacy Awards of Merit were held November 6th, 2019

The Saskatchewan Literacy Awards of Merit annual event recognizes the dedicated professionals, corporations, programs, projects, volunteers, and adult learners whose exceptional performance and accomplishments have supported literacy and essential skills in our province.

Saskatchewan Literacy Awards of Merit

Her Honour the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, hosted the 2017 Saskatchewan Literacy Awards of Merit on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 in Saskatoon, SK at the Bessborough Hotel.

Four awards were presented to individuals and organizations who displayed outstanding efforts in promoting essential skills development in learning and literacy.

The 2017 Saskatchewan Literacy Awards of Merit recipients were:

Professional Leadership in Literacy Award – Tina Winsor (Maple Creek)

Cameco Literacy Learner Award and Bursary – Reem Dandal (Regina)

Outstanding Literacy Project Award – Financial Literacy Program (READ Saskatoon)

Volunteer Service Award – Kay Luttmer (Regina)


Annual General Meeting

The Saskatchewan Literacy Network’s Annual General Meeting is held yearly in the Fall. At the meeting, the annual report is presented, there is a call for board nominations, and another outstanding business is discussed. All members in good standing are eligible to vote. Please note, according to the Saskatchewan Literacy Network bylaws, organizational members are entitled to one vote.

The SLN Annual General Meeting was held on December 12th, 2019.
